Estimating the Reducing Power of Carbon Nanotubes and Granular Activated Carbon Using Various Compounds

Determining the degree of reducing power multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) and granular activated (GAC) enables their effective application in various fields. In this study, we estimate (CNTs) GAC by measuring reduction compounds with different potentials. MWCNTs materials can reduce Cr(VI), Fe(III) PMo12O403−, where potentials range from +1.33 V to +0.65 V. However, no reduced forms PW12O403− SiW12O404− were detected, indicating that is insufficient for +0.218 +0.054 exhibit a short time (5 min), whereas exhibits gradually increasing all assessed until end reaction. This indicates higher than systems. Acidic initial pH values favor reduction, increases as becomes lower 4.0. Moreover, large quantities increase concentrations compounds.
